From the Principal

I would first and foremost like to thank you for your support and flexibility during this time of distance learning. Distance Learning begins tomorrow.  The teachers are trying to make this a fun, learning experience. The distance learning link that has all of our teacher’s contact information/distance learning plan can be accessed in one central location by clicking here and also available on the school website under the COVID-19 section.

The structure of these distance learning days will provide you with flexibility. We don’t expect students to be in front of a screen or doing assignments all day. Lessons are designed for students to be able to work independently at a time that works for them.  The health, safety, and mental well being of our students is our top priority. We understand that everyone is experiencing extraordinary stress.

PK-4th Grade will be primarily providing packets of work for each student along with some free apps and websites for supplemental/enrichment activities.  These packets may be picked up on Monday, April 6th, with the lunch pickups in each town. PK-4 teachers will be communicating with parents through Remind.

5th-12th Grade will be communicating via Remind and will be sending work primarily through Google Classroom. This is a platform that the students are used to using at school.  It is a free app that is designed to be used seamlessly with a smartphone, tablet, or computer. There may be other free websites and apps that will be used as well by teachers, but all will be compatible with smartphones and up. If your child is not able to complete the work sent due to accessibility, please contact me or their teacher and we will work together to make the best arrangement.

A change of this magnitude will not come without bumps in the road; however, I am confident we will all work together to provide the best opportunities for our students.  Please continue to communicate any questions or concerns you have to the teachers or feel free to reach out to Mr. Sharp, Mr. Hall, or me.
