Roger Hoeltzel

Hello, my name is Roger Hoeltzel. I teach science and am an assistant football coach, 5th and 6th grade girls basketball coach and head baseball coach. This is my 33rd year in education and I am thrilled to be starting a new chapter of my career here at Covington-Douglas.

I graduated from Covington-Douglas in 1979 and after 2 years at NEO junior college, finished my degree at Oklahoma State in 1983. I was fortunate enough to play college baseball at both NEO and OSU.

I began teaching and coaching at Kingfisher and have stints at 3 other Oklahoma schools and 3 schools in Texas. I come to C-D from Crescent, where I taught for the last four years.

My wife, Sherilyn and I live in Marshall and we have 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren. My experience growing up here, going to school, and graduating from Covington- Douglas was one that I cherish. The peers that I grew up with, the teachers that I had here, and the experiences that I enjoyed here at Covington-Douglas, empowered me and gave me that small school experience that I believe was an advantage then, and is still an advantage today. I hope that I can bring to the students that same quality experience that I enjoyed.
