I am currently the Visual Arts Specialist for 5th-6th grades and 9th-12th grades...what creative students I'm blessed to be working with!!!
I have taught in the Covington-Douglas school system for 40 years. The 2016-2017 school year marks my 41st year in education! I retired on June 1, 2014 but have continued to teach on a half day basis. Working with the students has always brought such joy into my life.
My passion in education has always been Art but I've taught middle school English, Literature, Social Studies, 4th Grade and even a P.E. class (Yes, I know...hard to believe!) during the course of my career at Covington-Douglas.
I grew up in Bartlesville, OK, the oldest of four children. I graduated from Bartlesville College High School. I attended CSU (now UCO) my freshman year in college. I transferred to OU my sophomore year and graduated from there with a B.F.A. in Art Education. I went to graduate school at OSU to obtain certification in Elementary Education. Just to set the record straight...I'm a SOONER fan to the core even though I attended OSU! BOOMER SOONER!!!
I've been married to Randy for 37 years. We have four children: Johnny and his family live in Speyer, Germany. Chase and his family live in McCook, Nebraska. Tennille and her family live in Torrington, Wyoming. Clint and his family live in Douglas, Oklahoma. We have seven grandchildren ranging in age from six to nineteen.
When I'm not at school I enjoy reading, gardening, scrap booking, crafts of all kinds, listening to music, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
